Version 1.1.1

April 25th, 2006

I’ve corrected a problem two people reported to me in regards to the 5 way navigation support in the View mode. This was causing unpredictable behaviour in some circumstances.

Version 1.1.1 can be found on the download page.

I’m still looking for validation that List is working well on various devices, please drop me a note if you have a device that version 1.1.1 works well with and it is not listed, or has a ? and I’ll update the chart.

Fixed – check the download page. I’ll try to be more careful in the future.

The app is running on my Palm Tungsten E.
I made my own database and I downloaded one. Both have the same name in the list of databases. The used names are only visible when loaded. How can I rename them?

You should be able to use the customize menu to rename one, or both of them.

    Hi, Roo!

Are you planned to make ListPC with support 320×480 screen on newer PalmOS devices?

    Thank you.

Support for higher resolutions is on the wish-list. So is support for external storage (ie: SDCards), along with more fonts etc.

Considering it was quite a while between updates, it may take a long time for me to get to the wish list 😉

I have been a very happy user of List through generation of Palms – great product which does what it says on the box! I have put a few lists on Memoware myself.
How about adding more functionality for 5-way navigators (e.g. the centre button to drill down into a record).

Thanks for making suhc an easy, useful program.

I have a small question;..Everytime I create a database for the first time using the windows based program, it gets uploaded into the palm at synchronization. But, if I update the same data base with more info…I cannot update that data into the palm at the next synchronization. I am sure there is a fix or may be I am doing something wrong. What I do now to over come this is to re-create the whole data base from scratch with a new name and synchronize again. As the amount of data gets bigger, this process is becoming really painful. Any adivce please.

    Hi Jude,
maybe I get you wrong, but: there is no “automatic” update when doing a hot-sync. If you want the updated database on the pc to be uploaded to your pda, you have to proceed the same way when uploading it the first time, there is no need to give it a new name.

    Herbert,
Thanks for your time in replying.
    Let me clarify.

I started the database and loaded the info using the WLISTDB.EXE file on my desktop. Save the file as .pdb. The file then gets loaded to the ‘PALM quick install’ and gets transfered to the palm during the hotsync. Now, I had to correct some data and add more data. I did that on the Desktop and save the file (which is the same .pdb) with more info. I expected this file to get transfered to the Palm during next hotsync and update the data in the Palm-pilot. But, this dows not happen. The new file gets deleted during the hotsync with a log entry. So far the only solution was to start from scratch and create the database.
As I need to submit this databse before a deadline…appreciate a quick answer. thanks, jude

    Hi Jude,
    try as follows:
before updating the pdb-file on the desktop, copy it while keeping its name to any other directory. Now update this copy-file and after finishing that, load it to the palm quick install. The next hot-sync should install this updated file and when doing so the older version on the pda should be overwritten!

    hey there…

Where can I find the application to manage the database on my desktop? I want to make a own dictionary for my work and use my desktop to fill ta database. Is your application good for this purpose?

    greetings from sunny Holland….

  • 15. Biji  |  June 17th, 2006 at 4:54 am

    Thanks for this application
works very well under treo 650

  • 16. roo  |  June 21st, 2006 at 7:20 pm

Applications that can help you manage your List databases on your desktop can be found on the download page under “Support Applications”.

There are other users who have used List to create dictionaries in the past, List is only limited by the amount of ‘main’ memory your Palm has (it doesn’t yet support SDCards and the like). However, using List as a dictionary is well beyond what I expected people to do with List – it was created to store things like book, CD or DVD lists.

I want to report bug under treo 650.

but after reset it works again

    Thanks for a great program!

Works well on my ancient m505!

Is there any way to convert the pdb file to other formats? I needed to upgrade my PDA and didn’t like the new Palms, so I am now using a Pocket PC handheld. I tried beaming the database, but it just shows up as an unsuable “Palm.exg” file. Beyond hope?

  • 20. roo  |  September 12th, 2006 at 7:53 pm

Bill (and others) you need to refer to the posting here and extract the data to plain text, then find a database program on the PocketPC you can use.

  • 21. Bill  |  November 7th, 2006 at 7:18 pm

don’t quite undertsand how that link helps.

Does anyone know of a Pocket PC program that can read and edit a pdb file like List does? Or do I have to start all over? I used it to keep a bridwatching list, and would like to not have to type al the info over again.
