Not Forgotten… Really!

March 20th, 2008

So I recently upgraded to a newer version of WordPress, but it appears that that has broken my theme. The fix originally didn’t look easy, but after poking around a bit I was able to get things looking mostly correct.

While there haven’t been updates for a while – there hasn’t been a lot of traffic in terms of bugs or problems with List either.  I still get regular requests for a Windows Mobile version – the answer is still no plans for this.  Support for something cool like the iPhone is tempting, but I’m holding off until at least the 2nd generation of these before they are compelling enough to justify the cost.

Ever thought of a Blackberry version of List?

Actually, I’ve never considered the blackberry as a potential target. I suppose it would be possible, but not having a blackberry myself I have little motivation to support it.

In all honesty List is pretty much in pure maintenance mode. I don’t personally use the application (nor have an active Palm device) anymore. Every once in a while I get the itch to hack something up, but the 2 devices I carry with me daily are my video ipod (closed system) and a relatively old cell phone (MIDP 1.0).

The iPhone will soon be in Canada, as well as the 3G network support. Hopefully this will come along with a 32Gig flash drive and then I’d replace my phone/ipod with a single device – a device that needs software written for it..

Yes, the iphone is out in Canada now. If only list would be out for the phone, that would be the killer app that is preventing me from dumping my buggy treo 680 for an iphone.

I’d even shell out 10$ for it if you prefer to be rewarded for your effort of porting it to the iphone.

Thanks for a great software anyway!

While friends of mine have lined up today to pick up the new 3G iPhone – the Rogers data rates have me deciding to sit it out for now.

It surprises me that someone out there hasn’t already built a simple database program for the iPhone, seems like a logical application to write.

Your comment about being surprised someone doesn’t have a List program for the iPhone got me thinking… is there one for Windows Mobile devices that you would recommend that isn’t as consuming as Access… something similar to your List?

Unfortunately my knowledge of the available software on Windows Mobile is as poor as my knowledge of available iPhone software. I did a quick net search to see if there was anything out there .. and didn’t find anything. Sorry.

Great program in support of the Weight Watchers lists.

Is there a way to tell the software to read the lists from the external memory card. I have LIST working, and reading databases from my internal memory which is getting low. I wanted to store the databases on the expansion card in my treo 650. Tried, but as mentioned, can’t find a way to tell LIST to read from that card.

thanks for the program and tia for the reply.

Bob, unfortunately List does not support data stored in external memory.

This is mentioned here http://www.lowtek.ca/list/?p=36 and is still true.

I’ve been a List user for years and just got an Iphone. I need to have List on the iphone. Please write an app for it. Thank you.

Sorry folks – just no time. See my latest post on the status of list.

Please bring out List for the iPodTouch/iPhone/iPad. I use my Touch for most everything but still carry my old Palm just for List. Help, my Palm is failing.
