After waiting for 2 weeks for BestBuy.ca to get around to shipping my copy of Wall E (my online order was stuck in Out of Stock) I finally printed out my online order and headed into the local BestBuy store.

The staff at BestBuy were friendly and helpful (as always) and price matched my online order - $27.99 + tax = $31.63. Converting that into US dollars at todays exchange rate gives me a price of $25.29, so not too bad a deal.

One thing I did notice is that the online price is $32.99, while the in store price is $34.99 (a 6% mark up!) - so ordering online for in store pick up is clearly the way to go.

The PlayStation site has posted that you can save $150 now when you sign up for the PlayStation card and buy a PS3.
I agree, Mirrors Edge does look cool. Speaking of games, check out the 1UP Show sometime if you haven't already. The team that puts the show together is nuts but the production is very good and they have some great game coverage. I subscribe to their video feed (a new show usually come out once a week).

BTW, Amazon is selling The Dark Knight on Blu-Ray at a 40% discount for pre-orders (ships Dec. 9th). Not a bad deal and I imagine would look amazing on your setup.

The PlayStation Store is nice, offering downloadable content such as free 1080p trailers for Blu-ray and new release movies. There are also playable free demos of games available. The store also offers a downloadable for a fee games, and extras such as themes.

Mirrors Edge is very cool. Check out this video from the 360 (gameplay is the same on PS3) http://www.gamersyde.com/stream_9250_en.html The only downside to this game is that it is only in 720p, which isn't as amazing as a full 1080p signal.

Nice post. Getting me exited for the day (which is going to be before year's end) when I finally buy the PS3 for myself. Been watching and waiting for some time on this system as well. My primary goal is for setting the system up as a gaming machine (of course) and media server as I am curious to try what Ken has done with MediaLink. As for Blu-Ray, I'm on the fence about this. Having a large DVD collection and already using the Oppo DV-983H I'm not really motivated to invest in the brick and mortar industry again. We'll see.
