{"id":24,"date":"2003-06-05T11:07:56","date_gmt":"2003-06-05T15:07:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lowtek.ca\/ampro\/?p=24"},"modified":"2005-11-14T14:08:02","modified_gmt":"2005-11-14T18:08:02","slug":"ordered-some-fans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lowtek.ca\/ampro\/?p=24","title":{"rendered":"Ordered some fans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Found a great deal on some quiet fans at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncix.com\">NCIX <\/a>, so I jumped on it and ordered a bunch. <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve ordered four Vantec Stealth can fans (80mm 2050rpm 20dBA 27cfm dual ball bearing) and one Papst fan (80mm 1500rpm 12dBA 19.4cfm sintec sleeve bearing). <\/p>\n<p>From the AVSForum, I know that one person has replaced all 3 of his fans with the Vantec fans and hasn&#8217;t reported any serious problems. My plan is to replace the power supply fan first with the Papst and see if the temperature is ok. For the two other fans, I&#8217;ll use the Vantec. <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m also considering adding a fan to the HVPS, but I&#8217;m not sure if one of the Vantec&#8217;s will fit, or if I need a different fan.
