{"id":234,"date":"2008-12-15T22:08:39","date_gmt":"2008-12-16T03:08:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lowtek.ca\/roo\/?p=234"},"modified":"2008-12-15T22:08:39","modified_gmt":"2008-12-16T03:08:39","slug":"joining-the-club","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lowtek.ca\/roo\/2008\/joining-the-club\/","title":{"rendered":"Joining the club"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lowtek.ca\/roo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/100_5939-full.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-235\" title=\"100_5939\" src=\"https:\/\/lowtek.ca\/roo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/100_5939.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"185\" \/><\/a>My good friend Ken Walker, his wife Kelly and their family have had a rough time of it lately.\u00a0 Kelly has been fighting <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Breast_cancer\">Breast Cancer<\/a> and is now going through <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chemotherapy\">Chemotherapy<\/a>.\u00a0 One of the side effects she has experienced is hair loss, and <a href=\"http:\/\/ken.walker.name\/usr\/_blog\/Entries\/2008\/12\/12_Time_for_some_husband_duties.html\">Ken decided to join her by shaving his head<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Today at work John asked if I liked my hair, and suggested it was possibly time for a haircut.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/duimovich.blogspot.com\/2008\/12\/were-with-you-ken.html\">John stopped on the way home for a number one, all round<\/a>.\u00a0 I took the DIY haircut route, but the results are similar.<a href=\"https:\/\/lowtek.ca\/roo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/100_5937.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-237\" title=\"100_5937\" src=\"https:\/\/lowtek.ca\/roo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/100_5937.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"160\" height=\"120\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A haircut won&#8217;t help stop cancer, but I hope to raise a little awareness by talking about Kelly&#8217;s fight to everyone who notices the haircut.\u00a0 Maybe you&#8217;ll read this blog posting and decide to give something to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bcaott.ca\/\">Breast Cancer Action<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My good friend Ken Walker, his wife Kelly and their family have had a rough time of it lately.\u00a0 Kelly has been fighting Breast Cancer and is now going through Chemotherapy.\u00a0 One of the side effects she has experienced is hair loss, and Ken decided to join her by shaving his head.
